Halifax Seed Company is Canada's oldest family-owned seed company. Established in 1866, we serve home gardeners, market farmers, landscapers, greenhouse growers, and everyone in between. Our annual seed catalogue contains hundreds of varieties of vegetables, herbs, and flowers, with new additions every year. You can find our seeds at our flagship Halifax store as well as our store in Saint John, New Brunswick. In season, look for our seed racks at farmers' markets, garden centres, and other stores across Atlantic Canada. 

Our Halifax location is home to our head office, retail store, and commercial services office. It's also the base of operations for our seed warehouse, where our dedicated team fills seed packets both by hand and with machines. All online and mail orders are hand packed in Halifax before making their way to homes and gardens in every Canadian province and territory. In Saint John, we also have a year-round retail store and commercial services office. Right in between sits our Debert warehouse, which facilitates deliveries to stores and customers across Atlantic Canada.

In addition to seeds, we also offer a full range of tools and supplies to help every gardener thrive. Find fertilizer, soil, pots, greenhouse accessories, and everything else you'll need to grow at our stores year-round. In the spring and summer, both our Halifax and Saint John stores operate outdoor garden centres. Visit us from May through September to find a wide range of carefully selected plants, including vegetable and herb transplants, flowers, shrubs, and ornamental trees. Our stores remain open outside of the garden centre season, and we're always available to answer questions and offer advice.
