Flat-Topped White Aster (Seed)
A cheerful, early bloomer of the Aster family, flowering as early as July. Flat clusters of small flowers with white petals and yellow centers. Excellent nectar source for bees and hosts the caterpillars of the Pearly Crescent and Harris Checkerspot butterflies. Grows best in moist areas. Approx. 200 seeds per packet.
Cold, moist stratification required. Winter sow directly outside, or mix seeds with moist substrate (vermiculite, perlite or moss) and place in a plastic bag and refrigerate for 6-8 weeks. Sow seed at 1/8 inch depth. Do not let seedling dry out while it is establishing.
