Well worth growing for its architectural flower-cones, each encircled by a spikey, ornate bract. The pale silver-green stems rise above steely, heart-shaped foliage. This biennial will happily seed over the years to produce stunning drifts and thrives in well-drained soils. The tall stems make a useful addition to dried flower arrangements, but spare some stems in the border, where pollinating insects will benefit from their nectar-rich blooms. Height: 100cm (39").
